Forever Young...

We are having a wonderful time in Raleigh visiting Graysen's family. Although I am a little ready to get home just to see our puppy Oscar.

Graysen's 13(soon to be 14) year old sister is catching me up on everything from The Jonas Brothers to High School Musical songs! I'm also going to be able to text like I am in middle school with all of the new lingo. Just what I wanted to know all about, it really is fun seeing her though, she reminds what it was like to be young. Those were the days!

We took her to lunch and shopping today because she was bored, Graysen's step mom was at work and his Dad is still not doing very well. More on that in a bit...

Her favorite saying is,"Guess what? I'm bored!" We weren't allowed to say that when we were younger or my Mom would give us a chore so we quickly learned not to say the bored word.

She said she thought we came to visit her so we would, "make her life fun!" If she only knew she was talking to the couple that curls up on the couch on a Friday night and are asleep by 9 p.m. may be 10 if you're lucky.

Graysen asked her where she wanted to go to college and she said she didn't know. I chimed in with," Her Mom won't let her go far away." She quickly responded with," Mom won't even let me go to Grandma's alone!" (Grandma lives 15 minutes from her.) She told us last year that she was ready to be 13 so she "could live her life"! Oh, what I would give to go back in time but only if I knew what I know now of course.

David, my father in law, is now at home but still in a wheelchair due to his car accident. He is sleeping in a hospital bed in their office and has a difficult time doing even the smallest things. This has been hard for us to see and it's bothering Graysen more than he imagined it would.

Isn't it nice how parents raise their children and then when the children are adults they turn around and take care of their parents when needed. I'm so glad God had it all planned out for us and how the cycle of life would work before we were even born.

I have lots of pictures to post and I'm getting hungry staring at the cake on the kitchen counter and debating about eating a slice or starting my diet a few days early.

Cake wins.

I teach with a teacher who says that a lot, "I'm bored." It makes me want to give her the rest of my to do list! She is a music teacher though....
