My grandfather,"Papaw Herman" had surgery yesterday on his heart. This is the second major surgery he has had in two weeks dealing with his heart and pace maker. He slept all through the night and is in stable condition now.
This is one of my favorite pictures of me with my Papaw. It was taken Christmas 1985, I was just 2 years old and I love how this picture shows how he captured my attention at such a young age. I always thought he hung the moon and still do to this day.
I'm really praying from him to have strength and a fast healing process. This is one tough man, I have no doubt he will be back to his old self in no time!
It's times like this when I wish things were easier. Like the old days. When I had no worries. No cares. The only thought I ever had was "When am I going to get to play?" Those were the days.
But, these are the days too. I am an adult now. I hate to admit it but I actually like being all grown up just minus the hard times part. Bills show up in my mailbox and I have to pay them. Laundry piles up and I have to fold it. Friends and family get sick and I have to face the fact that these days won't be here forever.
These are the days I will never forget, my first year of marriage to the man of my dreams, struggling to find a job using my degree but still blessed to have a job 3 days a week instead of nothing at all. These blessings in my life continue to grow and I am forever grateful for the power of prayer. Prayer may not always change things for you but it for sure changes you for things.

Sending prayers for your Papaw!
Oh, Anna I'm sorry about your grandfather. I am lifting him up in my prayers tonight.
Thanks..I thought you were a follower?
Praying for Pappaw Herman.
I am so very moved by your love for your grandfather... and the way you let prayer tie you to both the simple and the miraculous.
I will be praying for your grandfather, too... and for your job search. This is what I love so much about blogging... !
