5 months

baby P is 5 months old!




He is a healthy baby, happy most of the time and loves to be held!

What's new with baby P: he's teething! AHHH! His 2 bottom teeth are trying so hard to "pop" through. We can see them and can tell he's teething by all of the extra drool.



Loves to: put anything and everything in his mouth including his hands, any toy within his reach but not a passy. Our little guy will not take a passy so we've given up trying. Our pediatrician told us at his 4 month check up to give it up but of course I just had to try again the other day to see if it would help him nap and the outcome was still the same as it's always been...he spits every single passy out.

Worst habit: wanting to be held ALL of the time. But not just by anyone it has to be me or Daddy. He will go to Aunt Mayme (my sister) and be pretty content with her for a much longer time than he would with anyone else but always comes back to me. When Graysen gets home from work I can at least pass him off to fold some laundry, go for a run and make dinner. He wants nonstop attention and has to be talked to if he is awake, he "talks" back so I guess he just likes to have conversation. He has to be sitting on my hip or facing forward to see everyone and what's going on. He loves to be in the middle of it all...wonder who he gets that from? HAH!



Recent trick: finding the toys on his exersaucer and pushing the buttons and pulling on the toys. He gets so mad when he can't pull them far enough to put them in his mouth. He can also sit for a few seconds all by himself, without the bumbo seat or anything behind his back. He has the front to back thing down but still goes to one side after a few seconds. He cracks up when he sits and thinks that he is such a big boy that he forgets he is sitting and just topples to the side.

Best accomplishment thus far: sleeping through the night! This has been amazing for us because we love our sleep. baby P has been a great sleeper during the night since 2 months. He also can eat like a champ.

Favorite food: carrots and sweet potatoes... he might turn orange soon.



Least favorite food: One day Graysen gave him peaches which he has had and loved and he made a horrible face then Graysen gave him prunes and he gagged...prunes...who really loves prunes?? He's not a huge fan of peas but will eat them after a bite of carrots.

Other 5 month randoms: baby P is a very good baby. He usually only cries when he is hungry or tired, he fights sleep to the end! Sleep wins but it's a battle. He's not a fan of tummy time and I think it's because he can't see what all is going on. He's rolled from tummy to back but hasn't quite realized that he can do that yet. He's too interested in being held right now.
He smiles and cracks up when we talk to him and we can always get a laugh if we ask "Are you a good boy?" or say "Whoa dude!". baby P will even smile to a stranger and squeal for attention. Everyday he does something that makes us laugh and just when I think I can't love him anymore with all of my heart and being, my love grows stronger and I love my sunshine even more than the day before.
