baby P is 9 months old!
It seems like yesterday I was just writing that P was born and now he’s turning into such an independent little guy. It’s bittersweet to see all that he can accomplish with and without our help.
He pulls himself up to hold on to everything he can and has even been brave enough to let go several times for a few seconds. On this day he decided it would be a good idea to stand in his glider chair and even though it may look as though I’m being careless and letting him…what you don’t see is Aunt Mayme (my sister) was standing very close by to assist. Luckily, he was fine and never fell.
He’s all BOY with no fear!
He drinks from his sippy cup on his own but when we first hand it to him he will open his mouth and want us to hold it for him. He has 6 teeth, two on the bottom center, two on the top in the center and the one on each side of those. With all of these teeth P is over the mushy baby food and wants to grab food on his own and chow down. His favorite is still carrots and puffs although he's loving "mum-mums" and yogurt about the same. He only drinks water (besides the really expensive formula he’s on) because I don’t want him to have the extra sugars in juices right now and our dr . doesn’t recommend it anyways.
P is starting to understand the meaning of “no”. This doesn’t mean that he obeys it but I think he does understand it to a certain degree. We’re also working on responding to simple commands like “give mommy the toy” or “don’t chew on the dog’s bone”. Ya know, just some simple stuff.
P gives us the funniest looks sometimes, his facial expressions crack us up as I know I’ve said before but they just seem to get better everyday. Peekaboo is his favorite game to get attention. He’s also loving his walker that he will soon be crusing the floors on I have no doubt. He’s been better about going to the nursery at church and even to the one at the gym we go to. It’s been so good for him to go to other people besides me lately but it never fails when he’s upset he wants his Mommy.
At 9 months he weighs around 24 lbs. and is 28.5 in. long…we think. These are our at home stats we took but in a few weeks we’ll see at his checkup.
P- You are the light of our life!
You are such a sweet boy who loves to give us kisses but at the same time you are tough and most of the time if you fall from trying to stand up on your own you don't even cry but just do it again. We want you to have this outlook on life and even if you have to keep trying we know you will be successful at many things.
You smile and laugh along with complete strangers as we are holding you of course. We never knew we could love as much as we love you.
We pray that you will grow up to be a caring and well mannered child of God and that you will always know how loved you are by us and most of all the Lord.
