Dining Room

I'm linking up with Kelly's Korner today to show you my dining room. I'm so glad she's doing this home tour on Fridays because I love to see how people decorate and get ideas for my own home. I can't wait to find some time to look at the other dining room posts by you guys.

This room is one of the first things you see as you walk into our home.  The color of the walls and crown molding are a few of my favorite things in this room but my favorite is yet to come...

The light in this room is awesome! I have decided for now not to do a window treatment because I can't decide exactly what I want and I really do love the natural sunlight. My table isn't always decorated like this and I don't always have pumpkins in the room but it's Fall Ya'll!!

(disregard junk on the stairs waiting to be carried up and put away, we really do LIVE in our home)

My favorite thing in this room would have to be the light fixture.
I love detail and this one has it for sure!

On the buffet table in the dining room I have a few pieces of silver serving ware that hardly ever gets used anymore and this very special piece below...

This wooden box is engraved with our names, my husband's parents names and his grandparents names. My husband's middle name is Davidson which is his dad's and grandfather's and baby P's too.  (confused yet? hah!)
Inside is silverware that is over 100 years old! It belonged to my husband's grandparents who passed away years before he was ever born.  I can't wait to pass this piece on to our children, actually I can because it sits so well in my dining room right now and I don't even like to think of having grown up kids.

There's our dining room, we hardly use it when it's just us but it's great for parties and entertaining which I love to do!

I love the wall color...my kitchen is about that color. I don't have window treatments in my dr but we are going to go with Plantation shutters. I have them in my sunroom and family room and they still let in almost all of the natural light when open but I like closing them in the evening. Your silverware is gorgeous!

GORGEOUS!! Love the wainscoting!

Your blog is so cute... I love the quote your have on your header - I just recently bought my husband a picture from that same artist/author it says "You're the strangest person I ever met, she said, and I said, you too - and we decided we'd know each other a long time. " I thought it was so adorable. :)

Look forward to following you!

Stopping by from Kelly's Korner. Our dining rooms are very similar. We have red walls too. Love your dining room! Love the fact that you guys have that silverware passed down in the family. Priceless!
