Wednesday, right?
The days are flying by and I'm not keeping up like I used to on blogging. I haven't really felt like writing lately because it's just not a priority. We have a lot going on and I have a lot to blog about but every time I try to sit down on the computer I just feel there's something more important I need to do. Like watch my DVR'd Oprah's, cuddle with baby P and I've even cleaned the toilets one night instead of blogging this week.
baby P got lots of cuddling tonight when I was putting him to sleep. I just can't believe he's already 10 months!! I know I've said that at every month but he's turning into such a little independent guy. (I have lots more to post about for his 10 month post, which I have the pictures taken and I've even started the post but it'll be tomorrow before I will post it.)
Today was eventful, we met some very nice police officers and firefighters, went to a playdate, ran errands and had a nice family dinner on the back porch. Let's rewind for a minute. Are you wondering about the police officers and firefighters?
We'll I'll try to make the story short.
I was loading P up for our playdate and I sat a bunch of stuff in the front seat of my car and then put him in his car seat. I got him all strapped in and turned on his music on his Baby Einstein mirror which he loves! I reached into the passenger seat to move a bag over and heard a "click", didn't think anything of it, shut the passenger door and walked around the garage to open the driver's door. Pulled the handle and it was locked. AHHHHHH!!!! I ran around the car pulling every handle and they were all locked. Just my luck.
Next thought...pick up my phone and call Graysen, well my cell phone was in the car and we don't have a home phone. So, I started to run to our neighbors that are always home and they are the sweetest old couple ever and love Parker. Of course, I remembered half way across our yard that they are in FL right now. The closest person I saw was a construction guy working on one of the new houses in our subdivision. I ran up to him totally out of breath with my jeans stuck to my thighs and sweat running down my face. I asked to use his phone and tried to explain why but I quickly realized he didn't understand me and I probably wasn't going to understand him since he only spoke Spanish. Another construction worker came over and I ended up using his phone to call 911. By this point I just knew I had to get baby P out of the car and QUICK but I needed some help!
Granted it was not hot by any means and my car was in the garage which I had just opened so it was pretty cool in the car. Long story short, 6 police cars and 1 firetruck later, baby P was safe in my arms.
P did really well during the whole thing. He only got upset when there were so many people standing around the car and he couldn't get out. I on the other hand was upset the entire time. Lesson learned for this momma.
It's only Wednesday, right?

Ohhh you poor dear!! Sorry that happened to you! I would have been freaking out too. Glad everyone's safe! :)
Oh Anna, that is so scary. It reminds me of the trauma/close call with our fire last year. Even when everything turns out okay (and I'm so thankful for that!) you are shaken to the core. God's grace was evident today and I hope you just rest in that!
OH my gosh! I would have freaked out! I thought that I locked my keys in my car 2wks ago, my girls were outside with me and I still had a small panic. Glad everything worked out.
This same thing happened to me over the summer. Unfortunately it was 90+ degrees in a Wal-Mart parking lot!!! Everything turned out fine, but when I put Stella in the car, I always have 2 doors open--just in case!
