Christmas 2010

Well, Christmas has once again come and gone, quickly if I do say so myself.

We had a wonderful time celebrating with our families and doing the hop from one house to another. However, I have already set new rules that next year we will be at our house if anyone would like to see us on Christmas. It’s so tough trying to see so many people all in one day and drive all over town with a 12 month old that just wants a nap in his own crib and his new toys to play with.

My favorite part of Christmas this year was going to the Christmas Eve service at our church. P ended up being the only child in the nursery for the service we attended and we go to a pretty large church so this was a surprise. He loved the attention from all 3 of the workers though.

I was so emotional this Christmas by the story of Jesus’ birth. I have heard it so many times before, sang Away in a Manager since I was 5 and always knew it was such an amazing story. But there is something about becoming a mother that will just add a totally new light to this story and it did for me this year. I cried as I imagined what Mary and Joseph were going through on that night of Jesus’ birth. The happiness they felt and the love they had for each other and their new baby was just so touching to me this year, more than ever before.  What a miracle and how blessed are we that this baby, Jesus, changed everything for us.

We woke up Christmas morning to a lot of …SNOW! After screaming like a little girl who just woke up Christmas morning to find her dream dollhouse I ran in the living room to see what Santa had brought, then I remembered…I was Santa. Well Graysen and I were both Santa the night before laying out all of P’s goodies and even some for each other.

P enjoyed the cardboard and wrapping paper much more than any gift he could have received this year. But of course he was our most favorite gift of all and always will be.

Oh how I love my sweet P!
