eighteen months

{This post is mainly for me, since this is P's "baby book." But if you like to keep up with P then read on.}

Parker is 18 months old!
A year and a half old and I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by turning him from a teensy tiny baby to a very energetic toddler.

P weighs 25 lbs (50%) and is 33.5 inches tall (95%).
He is built like his Dada and everyone else in my family but me, tall and skinny.
He is like me and loves to eat though, he even helps himself to cookies.

He's down to just an afternoon nap, usually 2-3 hours and sometimes after a morning at the pool he will sleep longer and then still go to bed and sleep through the night until 8 the next morning.  The long nap doesn't happen everyday but when it does I love the time to get things done around the house and just breath.

 P is a very active, determined and strong willed 18 month old. Once he has his mind set on something he wants his way, the faster I run to catch him the faster he runs from me laughing. He has no fear of anything, strangers are a different story but when it comes to doing something he is the first one to try it. He has my sassy attitude and Graysen's patience or lack of, which makes for a very fun loving wild child!

His vocabulary is growing, slowly, but growing for sure. He says "dada", "mama", "gigi" "dogdog", "hi", "byebye", "ball", and has even repeated us lately with "cookie", "cracker" and a few others. He can sign more, milk, all done, and please. We actually have been concerned with his speech but Dr. J is not right now (at all) which makes me feel so much better. I feel like he will just start taking off and speaking so much soon, he tries so hard to tell us things and just babble. It has been one of those motherly things that I just worry and pray about daily, since we want the best for him, as every parent can understand.
Some of his favorite things to do right now are walk the dog on his leash ( in the house and around the block), run to the neighborhood playground, cuddle with his favorite "blankie" when he wakes up in the mornings as I fix breakfast, he will even try to sit with it in your highchair as he eats. P you crack us up with your expressions and the things that you do daily.

We have tried "time out" a few times recently and it will probably start to become more consistent with your tantrums that have started to peak. Music always makes you happy and when I cook dinner at night you and Dada dance around to music or read books.

I'm so thankful to be your Mama little P. You will never know the happiness you bring to our family.
 We love watching your personality grow and hearing your giggle.
