Home Projects 101

Last week I worked on a few things around our house that I had been wanting to "makeover". I love this bench because it hides some of P's toys that we keep downstairs and allows the playroom to remain a constant mess. I knew I was going to keep the bench but I had washed the seat cover a few weeks ago and it was just never the same. So, after I trashed it I decided I had to recover the seat cushion.

My lack of sewing skills came into play so don't look too closely but it serves the purpose.

After tackling the seat cover I was ready to re-cover every piece of furniture in my house, luckily I didn't. I just stuck with the patio furniture that needed a little TLC...
 And...TA-DA!
I found this outdoor fabric half off and it really spruced up the old patio furniture.

After those projects were done I took down these curtains in our living room and had planned to make a valance window treatment using them but I found some pretty fabric and thought it would add some more color to the room and open up the window corner.  Here's the before...
The guys hanging up the valance, our sweet neighbor came and brought us some vegetables from his garden and gave us some a little bit of his help too! Of course, P had to be up in the middle of it all when he saw Dada broke out the tools and ladder.
 The finished product!
I love to change up home decor pieces pretty often so we'll see how long before I'm on to my next project!

I think they all look AMAZING! I'm always wanting to re-do fabrics, but am usually too afraid to try. You've given me new courage!
