I decided to be brave and let P paint in the breakfast area. I thought we would just try one color at a time but he saw the other colors and wanted them all at once. I just knew it would be a disaster but it went wonderful! He loved every minute of it, never mixing the colors like I thought he would try to do.
I wish I viewed things more like him, through his 2 year old eyes he did not see a potential mess of paint and colors mixing. He saw something fun and exciting and he was so eager to paint. I know that everything is so new to him, even the little things in life that have become normal for me to experience are a brand new experience for him.
This past week has been a true test of parenting for me. He's been sick and his strong willed attitude was in full force with the help of some medicine he had to take.
I'm so thankful for my baby boy and blessed that I was chosen to be his mother.
I'm savoring every moment with him,
even the tantrums and the tears,
through all the laughter and cheers.
And the child grew and became strong in spirit. -Luke 1:80

Precious pictures. He looks like he's concentrating hard on his masterpiece. After a hard week, I know how therapeutic it is to have a memory like this.
