“And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years.”

I receive the same phone call on the morning of February 27th every year. I know the caller very well, as a matter of fact when I look in the mirror every morning I notice that I am starting to look more like her, which in my eyes is a very good thing.

My Mom calls me every year on my birthday and tells me she is having labor pains. She likes to tell me the story of how she knew she was in labor and finally decided to go to the hospital. My Dad likes to call me and tell me of how Kentucky was playing in a huge basketball game that night and the Dr. and him were watching the game, then we usually end up laughing about how I was actually born, breech and butt first like a human pretzel. My Mom doesn't like to laugh about that part because it was pretty scary and painful for her. My parents always said I came out showing my butt and still do. I will never get tired of hearing these stories not only because it's all about me but because this is what I look forward to telling my kids one day.

Last night was dinner with some of my good girlfriends. We had a great time and I'll post a picture in my next post. Sunday is my birthday celebration with my family and my brother is coming home for the weekend to celebrate his birthday too! I'll be leaving work in a little bit. (I am loving my new job by the way.) Graysen is taking me on a surprise birthday trip tonight. I have no idea where we are going but I'm looking forward to a night out and staying in a hotel! I love weekend getaways with him!
