I am saddened at how narrow minded some people are in this country. I was raised to always form my own opinion and that it was okay to disagree with someone on their beliefs about a topic. My Mom raised us to stand up for our beliefs and to let others have their own.
We weren't allowed to argue or fight(never, ever were we allowed to hit each other although one time my younger sister Amy did throw a cordless phone at me when I got on the phone giggling as she was talking to her friend about a boy and she once... okay maybe more than once she chunked a hair brush at me as I was running for my life up the stairs with her diary) growing up but we learned that to disagree on a color or our favorite food was okay. No two people are going to agree on every single issue and I think that's normal although some don't.
I'm not a huge fan of "politics blahhhh-itics" and keep my political thoughts to myself or share them with Graysen only. I am proud to be a woman that can make my own decisions and thankful for the women of the past that made it possible for me and other women to vote and have these rights.
I saw a movie several years ago called "Iron Jawed Angels". I think every woman should see this movie no matter who you are voting for! These women fought for the passage of the 19th Amendment. Women's voting rights were secured in the 1920's and this movie shows the struggle that these woman had to endure. The courage these women had inspired a nation and changed it forever. I am forever grateful for that...
and pretty grateful that my sister never knew that I once made it upstairs with her diary and key! Guess she'll know after this ...

I know. I once told Steven that he was the chief of the Republicans and didn't know he could be married to a closet democrat. Not seriously. I have lots of difficulty having grown up exposed to very democratic slants on things. I'm not please with the candidates AT ALL this time. I know I have my own mind, I just wish the candidates did.......Apathetic, I've become. Post Amy's diary next time. LOL
